The Basics

Written as a series of diary entries, letters, telegrams, and articles, Bram Stoker’s Dracula stands as one of the most well-known gothic horror stories of the 19th century. It remains part of the foundation of the horror genre, alongside earlier stories such as Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, and the works of Edgar Allen Poe.  Originally published in 1897, Dracula remains culturally well-known through its multiple movie adaptations, and its iconic characters, such as the titular Count Dracula and the famed “vampire-slayer” Dr. Van Helsing (Who’s actually a medical doctor!)

As this site focuses specifically on Stoker’s novel, however, I’ve created two pages to help viewers follow along: a page for major characters, and a page for major locations. Please enjoy!
